সাইবার সিকিউরিটি ইন্ডাস্ট্রিতে ডেটা ফাঁস বিষয়ে সর্বাধিক পঠিত এবং ব্যবহৃত রিপোর্ট হচ্ছে Verizon’s DBIR। বার্ষিক সাইবার অপরাধের পরিসংখ্যানের বহুল ব্যবহৃত এবং বিশ্বস্ত রিপোর্ট এটি। Verizon এবছর তাদের ১৬ টি শিল্পপ্রতিষ্ঠানকে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করার জন্য তাদের প্রতিবেদন ক্ষেত্র বৃদ্ধি করেছে। তারমধ্যে এসিয়া-প্যাসিফিক (APAC), ইউরোপ, মধ্যপ্রাচ্য, আফ্রিকা (EMEA), ল্যাটিন আমেরিকা এবং ক্যারিবিয় (EMEA) এবং উত্তর আমেরিকা, কানাডা ও বারমুডা অঞ্চলে সর্বাধিক ডেটা ফাঁস পরিলক্ষিত হয়। এই বছরে মোট ১৫৭,৫২৫ টি ঘটনার বিশ্লেষণে রিপোর্ট তৈরি করা হয়েছে যার মধ্যে ৩২,০০২ টি ঘটনা Verizon এর স্ট্যান্ডার্ড মান এবং ৩৯৫০ টি নিশ্চিত ডেটা ফাঁস চিহ্নিত করা হয়েছে।
Verizon’s DBIR, one of the most-read and referenced data breach reports in cybersecurity, is considered the definitive source of annual cybercrime statistics. Verizon expanded the scope of the report to include 16 industries this year including Asia-Pacific (APAC); Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA); Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC); and North America, Canada, and Bermuda that faced the most data breaches. This year the study is based on an analysis of a record total of 157,525 incidents. Of those, 32,002 met Verizon’s quality standards, and 3,950 were confirmed data breaches.

The sudden attack of Covid-19 has made the whole world come to a standstill. It is impossible to keep the activities of various offices and other organizations postponed for a long time, though everyone stays at home to protect themselves from the epidemic; so corporate organizations have started their services online through remote working. However, the increase of remote work has enhanced the unseen threat in the digital space. Threat actors are trying to deploy cyber-attack using the personal and public Wi-Fi network of the potential victims. So online safety & cybersecurity is now the most important issue for remote workers. Corporations have raised many concerns about the security of official and personal information, confidential information sharing due to remote working.
Nowadays, the most mentioned topic on the internet is the Coronavirus. People are reading & sharing news and expressing their views on social media regarding this pandemic. Although a section people are sharing messages of awareness, some cyber criminals are using it to spread phishing links on the internet to grab user’s personal information. Cybercriminals are spreading the rumors about Coronavirus through emails with phishing links, and attempts are being made to create social media scams.

The year 2019 saw many types of cyber-attacks starting from Ransomware Attack, Supply Chain Attacks to American Medical Collection Agency Breach. These attacks have proved that hackers are becoming smarter day-by-day, which makes cyber security a serious issue for both individuals and organizations.
In 2020, we predict, several types of similar attacks apart from many new techniques of intrusion. Here, we have mentioned about 5 types of security threats which is expected to show up in the year 2020.
The biggest challenge of living a normal life is keeping our personal information confidential from outside sources who are lingering to get hold of them.
